Latest SHOCKING Details on GTA 6

Grand Theft Auto 6, like many other Rockstar Games projects, is rife with rumours. Separating wild speculation from real news is a challenge in and of itself. Plus, things change, especially given the current state of video game development. So, we’re here to catch you up on everything that’s transpired since the last time we spoke.

For nearly a decade, GTA fans have been waiting for a sequel to GTA 5. Indeed, if it weren’t for the few meagre mentions we do have from official sources, it would be difficult to believe in its existence. You’ll be relieved to learn, though, that Rockstar has finally confirmed that GTA 6 is in active development.

“We are thrilled to confirm that active production for the next chapter in the Grand Theft Auto series is well underway,” Rockstar Games said in an official blog post.

But before we get into what it entails, here’s everything we know about GTA 6.

The most recent GTA 6 release date

As you may know, GTA 6 has yet to be given a release date, which is a shame because it has been rumoured to be coming out in 2022 since back in 2018. GTA fans and journalists are still deciphering the enigma of the missing release date.

So, when do you think the movie will be released?

Take-Two issued a marketing study in 2020 that predicted a 2023 release. According to industry analyst Jason Cohen, who correctly anticipated the release window for Red Dead Redemption 2, the report’s advertising budget and other elements pointed to GTA 6 launching between 2023 and 2024.

However, some industry insiders appear to disagree. GTA 6 won’t be released for at least another two to four years, according to these sources, and most likely not until 2025.

These two hypotheses appear to agree on 2024 as a possible release date, however more properly, GTA 6 will most likely be released between 2023 and 2025.

Trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6

Keeping with the premise, no official trailer has been released. There are, however, a few compelling fan-made trailers. Marlon XGamer’s April Fool’s hoax, which earned over 4 million views, is one of the most popular. The scam was discovered by the Portuguese gaming YouTuber soon after the upload, but not before it had fooled millions of people.

Similar videos and teasers were disseminated by some convincingly titled bogus Rockstar Games YouTube accounts, such as “Rockstar Games Official” and “Rockstar North,” much to the internet’s surprise. These trailers flood search engines with false information, making it appear as if there is a trailer when there isn’t.

Don’t be fooled by that. The verified Rockstar Games YouTube channel should be used as a guide. When the GTA 6 trailer is released, it should be uploaded there as well as on the game’s social media platforms.

The location of GTA 6

Another hot topic of discussion for GTA 6 is the setting. The Return of Vice City, a fictional locale modelled on Miami, Florida and featured in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, according to The Know, a channel noted for its insider information.

Other GTA fans have discovered evidence to back up this claim. Imgur user Tenet007, for example, compared the GTA 5 map “Height of Society” to a map of the United States that highlighted Florida, Michigan, and Mexico.

A few years back, it was speculated that GTA 6 would be set in Portland. However, this is only a story that arose as a result of a blog post by a Portland real estate company regarding a Grand Theft Auto game based in the city.

Tokyo was explored as a setting for a standalone game by Rockstar, but the traffic system proved to be “difficult.”

GTA 6’s main character

There have been many ideas about how Rockstar will handle playable characters in GTA 6 since GTA 5 introduced several protagonists for the first time. In any event, all signs lead to the franchise breaking new ground.

According to The Know, the game will include a female protagonist, which would be a first for the franchise. Another report states that either a male or female protagonist will be available. However, neither a female protagonist nor selectable protagonists have been confirmed by Rockstar.

It’s also unknown whether GTA 6 will keep the multi-character narratives or go back to single protagonists like previous instalments. Of course, in GTA Online, you play as a single character, and the game’s massive success may have an impact on Rockstar’s choice.

Returning characters from Grand Theft Auto 6

Some fans have speculated whether Franklin, Trevor, and Michael, the three protagonists from GTA 5, will return in GTA 6. That’s a bit suspect, given that they were rumoured to be included in single-player DLC that never materialised. With that, their stories appear to have come to a close at the conclusion of GTA 5.

With the exception of Franklin, who debuted in GTA Online’s The Contract missions, this is the case.

However, it’s likely that some familiar names and faces from previous games will make an appearance. Attorney Ken Rosenburg, for example, represented Tommy from Vice City and CJ from San Andreas. Lazlow Jones appears in several GTA games, although he’s based on one of the writers of the game’s narrative.

The series Grand Theft Auto is known for its Easter Eggs. Even if older characters don’t have a prominent role in the plot, it’s extremely likely that you’ll see some familiar faces hiding about the city.

What is Project Americas, and what does it entail?

The term “Project Americas” alludes to a large GTA 6 leak on Reddit. It’s called “Project Americas” since that’s what Rockstar nicknamed GTA 6 according to the leaker. The material includes prospective locales and features in the next game, according to the source.

This leak, according to trusted game industry sources, was fraudulent — or at least partly bogus. You can read it, but don’t take all it says at face value. It’ll almost certainly inform a lot of the GTA 6 internet rumour you see before the game’s release, so you’ll know where it came from.

Pre-orders for GTA 6 are now available.

There aren’t any pre-orders for GTA 6 yet, which isn’t surprising. After all, the release date is many years away. When pre-order information becomes available, we’ll update this area.
