Lost Sectors are a type of Players vs. Environment activity. These are small contained areas hidden, or as the name goes, lost in the game. These areas are for exploration by players and contain tons of enemies, a small boss fight, chests, loots, and equipment. Killing the boss unlocks a chest, which contains some Glimmer, a piece of equipment, and before update 2.0.0, a token for the planet.
There are three lost sectors in Outskirts of the European Dead Zone region on Earth – The Drain, Whispered Falls, and Scavenger’s Den.

Where to find Whispered Falls in Destiny 2 ?
Whispered Falls is one of the lost sectors in the European Dead Zone on Earth located within the Outskirts. Keldrik, the Drained Captain, guard it.
When you reach the location marked on the screenshot, search for a hill. Behind the hill, look for a cave that seems impossible to find. Defeat the Fallen and enter the brighter area. Using the raised areas, you can reach the top room and be careful of Dregs and Vandals’ loss. Kill them and enter the opening meeting the Boss and his Fallen Minions. Wear down Keldrik’s shield and overwhelm him to gain the prizes.
