New game in the market! Classic Neo Geo is back. Yes, Fatal Fury: First Contact made its triumphal much-awaited release(or return, whatever you say) on 23rd Dec’20. Twenty years since the first release of the game; the official site of the Nintendo announced the launch of Fatal Fury: First Contact On Nintendo Switch.
What’s New and What’s Nostalgic In Fatal Fury
Fatal Fury: First Contact Release, The announcement of the game on Nintendo website says Fatal Fury comes with:
- Newcomers such as Rick Strowd and Li Xiangfei and
- Old fan favourites Terry, Geese, and Mai Shiranui.
So there’s plenty to be excited about this holiday season.

Originally released in 1999, this game is heavily based on the arcade fighter Real Bout Fatal Fury 2. With nostalgia infusion, the game lets players battle in pixelated Southtown. Like the ones seen in SNK classics, Fatal Fury will feature the Neo Geo overlay, to make up for the lack of horizontal pixels.
You will be able to play as Alfred, the protagonist of Dominated Mind and the hidden boss from Real Bout Fatal Fury 2.
The Official Announcement says the Game will be Easier for Beginners. How, Do You Ask?
- Due to single-lane fighting
- You can invite a friend over 1-on-1 action in either tabletop or handheld model and
- Game manual included is from the NEOGEO POCKET COLOR edition (control schemes vary from those on the Nintendo Switch).
Furthermore, a comeback mechanic known as Potential Power will allow players to unleash an ultra-lethal special move at the brink of death.
Some tools to depend on are given to the beginners as you learn the intricate mechanics’ ins and outs. This is making us predict its definitely something special!
