How To Get It?
It is understood that the Zombies mode for the newest Call of Duty periodically receives limited trials. These trials allow you to spend several days, usually over a weekend, playing Black Ops: Cold War Zombies for free.
Activision and Treyarch revealed that, for a week, starting this Thursday, a free preview of the Zombies modes in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War would be open to everyone (January 14).
This first free trial is expected to start on January 14, 2021 Thursday, and run all the way through January 21. Both Xbox Live, PlayStation Network, and PC players will be able to access Zombies via Battle.net.
It’s also not a bare-bones demo. All players will access the original Die Maschine map, as will Crank, which adds the intensity of zombies that erupt after a brief time. Lastly, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 users will have exclusive free access to the Onslaught two-player mode.
Obviously, you won’t be able to play the demo forever. You’ll have to purchase the complete edition of Black Ops: Cold War after the trial ends.
This does, however, at least set a precedent. Zombies have always been a paying experience. But, it can’t be denied that the free-to-play model works well with the Call of Duty series. Although Black Ops: Cold War Zombies is not free.

Which Are The New Modes Coming?
Cranked is the first of two new game modes to appear in Black Ops Cold War Zombies. This model features a countdown timer, similar to previous Cranked multiplayer modes, and once it reaches zero, players die instantly. Once the first zombie dies, this countdown will start, at which point every zombie kill will keep the timer running. The mode also features the Cranked Timer Power-up, which will freeze the timer for all players in the match momentarily.
Onslaught is a fast-paced new mode for two players in Zombies. Onslaught takes place on the separate Black Ops Cold War multiplayer maps instead of taking place on the traditional Zombies maps. As a consequence, the two players will face waves of zombies in a smaller field. There are, however, two more difficulties. First, Onslaught’s zombies will be extremely vicious, and second, for a limited time, a Dark Aether Orb will force players to remain in one limited part of the world. As the waves become more dangerous, this safe zone will regularly move around the map. Bronze, Silver, or Gold ranks can be won by players for completion and unique Weapon Blueprints.
