The essence of Pride is one of the quest items in Destiny 2. It can be obtained just as a random drop while you are playing Shadowkeep. This item might task you with killing Nightmares in lost sectors on Nessus, Titan, lo, and EDZ.

Cleansing this Essence will grant a piece of gear. Defeat Nightmares throughout the solar system to cleanse this essence. The bosses of the Lost Sector grant the most efficient progress. Nightmares defeated on the Moon grant no progress.

First, you’ll need to unlock the Lectern of Enhancement by progressing through the missions of Shadowkeep’s story. When you unlock it, you will then need a Phantasmal Core if you are going to take on the Essence of Pride quest. These cores can also be earned by completing weekly bounties from the Lectern or exchanging Phantasmal Fragments for Cores. Once you have got this core, just claim the “Essence of Pride” quest from the Lectern and then you will be able to start working on it.

Defeating Nightmare in Destiny 2 Shadowkeep

The Essence of Pride quest also expects the players to defeat Nightmares across the galaxy. The best way to go to defeat Nightmares in Destiny 2 Shadowkeep is to make your way to Lost Sectors. There’s a Widow’s Walk Lost Sector on the EDZ. Land on the Trostlands and then move back to the left section of the area to find this place. You’ll find some Nightmare-type enemies, and you have to defeat them. This can give you 30% of the Nightmares required to beat the Essence of Pride quest in Destiny 2 Shadowkeep.
