The article talks about the reboot of Tenchu: Stealth Assassins game. A new game for PS5.
Takuma Endo is the creator of Tenchu: Stealth Assassins and the president at Acquire Inc. He has hinted that he is very interested in making a Tenchu game for the PS5. Reportedly, in an interview with Weekly Famitsu. Takuma Endo said that he “would like to create a Tenchu game from the ground up for PS5.”
Although nothing is in the works as of now and, there may be some more troubles with the idea. From software, the current owners of Tehncu had recently released Sekiro in 2019. Sekiro is an action-adventure game along the same lines as Tenchu. So, the company may be less inclined to release a Tenchu sequel yet.
If this game does get revived, it will surely be a nostalgia trip for old gamers. Released in 1998 on PS1, this game rose to popularity in the early 2000s. In fact, this game was so popular that its characters laid the foundations for many. If you’ve followed the popular game Dota 2, the idea for Hero Rikimaru actually came from Tenchu. In warcraft and Dota 1, the hero’s name is Rikimaru: the stealth assassin.

What could be new?
Due to the lack of hardware with a PS1, the game was mostly set in nights. The dark theme could compensate for a lot of things. However, PS5 has no such limitations. So, players can expect some daylight action too. It would be interesting to have an Action-RPG game set in Feudal Japan.
