The feature was under testing from quite a few weeks. Further, the test was taking place through a Twitter support account. However, this test was only performed for the iOS systems as far now. Further, the test was run for four weeks straight. Also, it was limited to some countries only. The countries in which the test was actually run were Canada, Japan, Saudi Arabia and U.S.
There are still updates that the company is still running the tests. But as if now, they are still measuring this feature before its final release. It is also known that the company is running test for android users.
Prior addition of this feature
The users of Twitter are used to many GIFs, images, videos and much more while they use this platform. However, when there is any link of any YouTube video in any specified or particular tweet. The users have to leave this platform and watch the respective video on the YouTube app or the website. The Twitter do not support the YouTube videos to play on the app or the website. Although, it does not seem to be a huge issue. But every platform need an upgrade for its smooth functioning.
Changes after addition of the feature
The foremost change is with the option will be of quitting the app or the website. You do not have to switch to the other apps or websites or to the links which are attached to the particular accounts. Moreover, it is an initiative to enhance the accessibility and ease in functionality.
After the addition of this feature, the video attached to the link will play itself in the users account. Also, it can be expected that the videos can now directly be uploaded to the Twitter accounts from YouTube.
