Rocket League Sideswipe coming soon for Android and iOS.

“Soccer, but with rocket-powered cars” is coming on mobile devices soon. The game, developed by Psyonix, released on Microsoft Windows in July 2015 and went free-to-play in September 2020. Titled Rocket League Sideswipe, the game takes soccer to a whole new level by using vehicles and causing mayhem.

The developers assure that they are working on the game, which means it will not be long before the PC experience finally comes to phones.

Gameplay

The gameplay involves hitting a massive ball with small cars with rockets and scoring goals. The game underwent several updates that gave it several new modes like Training, Hoops, Rumble, and Dropshot. The game is available to play in various operating systems and consoles, including Windows, Linux, Mac, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. The online services for macOS and Linux were stopped in 2020.

Rocket League Sideswipe will be a 2D game and a shorter variant of its PC counterpart. Players compete in online 1 vs 1 or 2 vs 2 matches. The game is a spinoff from the series and will be free to play.

Rocket League joins other famous PC and console games that have successful Android and iOS counterparts, like PUBG Mobile, Call of Duty Mobile, PES 2021 Mobile, FIFA Mobile, and Grand Theft Auto San Andreas.

The game will face competition against famous racing and soccer titles, like Dream League Soccer, PES 21, NFS No Limits, and Asphalt 9. Since there is no other game matching similar gameplay, it has a high chance of success, even though the game features two-dimensional graphics.

Starting March 24, Rocket League Sideswipe will be available for a limited time in Google Play Store for an alpha test. This is only applicable for players in Australia and New Zealand.
