As per the Newsletter report, there is a message that users of WhatsApp are receiving on a wide basis. Further, this message is in the form of a forward. The forward does not contain any text or message, but only a link that shows “Amazon 30th anniversary celebration”. When a user taps on the link, it will automatically open up either on the app or as a new tab. This completely depends on which platform you are using. Once the link is opened, you can easily observe that the URL present in that link is fraudulent. Also, this does not appear the same as that of Amazon’s official one.

In addition to the above, those who open up the link will see an advertisement that states that the company is willing to give Huawei Mate pro 5G to the hundred lucky users. To attract users, they inform all the users that they have won the smartphone. And the users have to follow some rules. Basically, the rule consists of forwarding the message to twenty more persons either in individual or groups. Now, it is quite clear that’s why this is a forward.

Not only do they ask the message to forward, but also they take users’ personal information and then ensure that the gift will be delivered in the next 5- 7 working days. Many of the users had also given a time limit to provide their information.

When the same matter is concerned by the Amazon customer care service, they clearly deny that the company is not providing any gift through WhatsApp messages.

It is a clear caution to the users that do not fall for it.
