Mainly the complaints have been about how the SBMM(skill-based matchmaking) has only suitable in certain devices, and it is becoming impossible to keep up with the game due to these features.

Skill-based matchmaking or bot lobbies in Fortnite has a bone of contention among Fortnite players. While some tend to enjoy it, many other’s don’t. When you are playing on Xbox, you don’t want to get involved in playing with Switch, iPhone or PS4 players.

How to turn off the skill-based matchmaking in Fortnite

(This is the guide on how to disable it on Xbox One and PS4)

  • For Xbox Players: Go to Settings > Account > Privacy & Online Safety > Xbox Live Privacy > View Details and Customize > Block Matchmaking Outside Xbox Live
  • For PS4 Players: Go to Settings > Control Options > Scroll down to Allow Cross-Platform Parties.

 Players have recently also witnessed that SBMM feature is gone in some of their consoles. But no reports of any official change or announcement have reached us from Epic Games or Fortnite’s social media pages or website. Fortnite is available on Windows, macOS, Android, iOS, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and Fortnite next generation is expected to release in PS5 and Xbox X/S consoles.
