League of Legends: Wild Rift patch 2.5 new content

Published on:

League of Legends: Wild Rift is now receiving patch 2.5 in the middle of October. It’s going to have a new set of additional content such as the Dragonmancer skins, new champions, and changes to the map. There is also a new feature added to the client that can incentivize playing with friends. Here is everything you need to know about patch 2.5.

Client update

First and foremost is a light but significant update to the client. The normal PvP mode will have role assignment preference that is similar to the ranked game mode. It’s the perfect opportunity to master your preferred roles rather than hope that none of your teammates will pick a redundant champion.

Patch 2.5 introduces a new Hexplorer battle pass featuring Tristana, the Yordle Gunner. Riot changes the way rewards are presented to reveal a clearer difference between normal and premium game passes.

Riot Games is introducing Guild, a new system that incentivizes playing with groups of friends or strangers rather than relying on the traditional blind draft. You can create a guild with its own name, tag, description, and topic labels. It allows players to control who they play with as well as gain extra rewards that all guild members can benefit from. Every guild will have a unique weekly objective so check it regularly if you want the rewards. It’s slightly similar to an online casino’s system and its bonus guide here, where players can claim their perks after specific achievements.

Three new champions

The most exciting addition to the game is the introduction of three classic fan favourites from League of Legends. Veigar is coming in October while Caitlyn and Jayce are joining the Rift in November. Here’s what you need to know about these three champions:

Veigar, the Tiny Master of Evil, is a control mage with a high damage potential for the mid lane and support role. His most notable ability is passive that lets him gain permanent AP every time he strikes an enemy or scores a takedown. This buff is permanent and has no limit so he is one of the game’s few champions who can stack infinitely. Longer battle tilts towards his favour.

Jayce, the Defender of Tomorrow, is the first transforming fighter to ever step foot in Wild Rift. Unlike most champions, his ultimate just let him swap between ranged and melee and all of his three other skills into a different set. His passive gives him movement speed boosts whenever he switches, enabling him to either engage or disengage smoothly as a top-lane skirmisher.

Caitlyn, the Sheriff of Piltover, is a ranged marksman with an oppressive poking potential. Her passive makes her auto attacks lethal, her 1st skill has a large range and considerable damage, and her ultimate can takedown any carry even outside of her field of vision. What’s more, is that her traps and net can disengage an assassin or lock down a target.

Map updates

Patch 2.5 is also going to add a few changes to the game maps. For ARAM, a Scryer’s Bloom will spawn on the top brush of each side of the game to see enemies waiting in ambush. Riot Games delayed Baron Nashor’s spawn timer for both ranked and normal PvP so players can score the Rift Herald up to twice per game. The Rift Herald now takes more than half its total health when it tackles a turret so it dies quick enough to start the next one’s spawn timer as fast as possible.

New skins

Patch 2.5 will also start a new skin line event featuring the Dragonmancers. This skin line presents the following champions:

  • Fae Dragon Ashe
  • Eternal Dragon Brand
  • Lagoon Dragon Kai’sa
  • Storm Dragon Aurelion Sol
  • Zephyr Dragon Yi (Wild Rift Exclusive)

This also comes with a new event titled ‘Way of the Dragonmancers’. Players may choose one of five champion disciplines and complete a series of missions that are aligned with the champion’s role. The rewards include poro cookies, motes, and event-exclusive icons and emoticons. Much like most video games and online casinos’ bonus guide here, you can claim your rewards once you successfully complete events and other requirements.
