Rust game developer Double Eleven has confirmed that the game will be released for Xbox and PlayStation devices soon. While this is a good news for PlayStation gamers, the question is if the game will support cross-platform gameplay. We look at what the developers have to say.
Rust for PS4, Xbox One
That’s correct! Rust, the survival game, is now coming to PlayStation devices. The game will launch on 21st May 2021 for PS4 and Xbox One. Also, the game can be played on newer console devices, like PlaySTation5 and Xbox X/S using the compatibility feature.
The console version comes after seven years of the original release of the game. This means, and the developers have confirmed, that the game will have content specially designed for console gamers. This means the game will be different from the PC version. But at the core, it is the same title only.
The game will require only 4,5GB RAM in console devices, compared to 10GB RAM on PC. That being said, the game will =have a loading time of about a minute or two. Rust is a massively multiplayer game that features everything online in a vast open-world map.
The developers have said that the game has been improved a lot. It is not the same 2013 PC experience now, as many parts and components of the game have been updated to meet the requirements of the newer consoles. Also, Double Eleven have promised that the console game will receive regular updates. This is important, because there may be lots of bugs as the game was originally designed for PC only.
