A fantasy game using a racing game Engine? It isn’t really crazy as it sounds.
Fable and Playground Games Studio
The team behind the Fable game “Playground games”, is the one that has made Forza Horizon and Motorsport games, So it’s not surprising they are using this engine, and for sure it’ll handier for them to use the Forza engine.
How do we know?
Microsoft is acquiring new recruits for their studio “Turn10” which is responsible for Motorsport games of the Forza series. In there, the job description reads: “In addition to adding new features like raytracing to support the next console generation, we are also enriching the toolset to support an open-world action RPG – Fable,”
The Fable game will not be coming soon, but in a few years as its development has only been started. That said, as it’s making a comeback after over a decade, the day it announced was one of the best days for its fans. Their reaction to seeing their favorite franchise come back was too wholesome. Its last game was released back in 2010.
The studio that is going to work on this game is the one that is famous for the breathtaking games of the Forza series, including both Horizon and Motorsport. Forza Horizon 4 is by far the most beautiful and realistic-looking racing game ever made, so it’s clear that this game engine “Forza engine” is more than capable of making good stuff.

It’s interesting to see how it will turn out, as Forza engine has only been used for racing games, so A fantasy game from this engine could either be a challenge or a more easy, due to the team behind it.
It’ll definitely take some work to make this engine get adapted to Action RPG games like Fable, but we have high hopes and expectations from the studio and the capabilities of this engine that has made gorgeous-looking Forza games.
