House of the Dragon is now in production, and will the origin story of the House Targaryen, taking place 300 years before the events of GOT.
Game of Thrones was a breathtaking series and everyone who watched it loved it, except the last season but still, the whole series was such an emotional ride and filled with heart-wrenching deaths, love, and fight for the throne among our favorite characters. The series was based on a book series by George Martin.

House of the Dragon
Continuing GOT, or well, going back in time, HBO has decided to make a spin-off series based on George Martin’s book “Fire & Blood”. They announced it on Twitter on December 2020 and told that the production will begin in 2021. This series will take place 300 years before the events of Game of Thrones and will revolve around the house of Targaryen and their origin.
With the recent tweet that they posted on April 28, we can see that the shooting of the series has now finally begun. They posted this pic in which we can see two members of house Targaryen – Rhaenyra Targaryen and Daemon Targaryen, who might be the main characters of the series- are seen talking in what seems like the middle of some desert.

When will it premiere?
The show will premiere in 2022, exclusively on HBO and HBO max. But, If HBO’s deal with Star continues to be, we might be able to watch House of the Dragon in India on Disney+ Hotstar just like Game of Thrones.
Cast and Characters
The main characters for me would be DRAGONS! We can’t wait to see even bigger dragons than what we saw in GOT and even in that series they were phenomenal, so there’s no surprise we are hyped to see more and bigger of them. (:
Other than dragons, The Cast of the series will include Paddy Considine, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Matt Smith, Steve Toussaint, Eve Best, Rhys Ifans, and Sonoya Mizuno. We’re really excited to see Matt Smith, Emma D’Arcy play the main characters as well the other cast who would bring their characters to life with their performance.
Important characters will include:
Matt Smith as Prince Daemon Targaryen: younger brother of King Viserys and heir to the Dragon Kingdom
Emma D’Arcy will play as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen: King’s first-born child
Paddy Considine will play as King Viserys Targaryen: the successor of Old King Jaehaerys Targaryen
Rhys Ifans as Otto Hightower: the Hand of the King
Olivia Cooke will be Alicent Hightower: who is the daughter of the Hand of the King – Otto Hightower
Steve Toussaint as Lord Corlys Velaryon aka Sea Snake: lord of House Velaryon
Eve Best will be the Princess Rhaenys Velaryon: wife of Lord Corlys Velaryon
Sonoya Mizuno will play as Mysaria: ally of Prince Daemon Targaryen
