Konami Won't Attend E3? Here's Why

Konami who is a well-known game company and has published some of the best games like the Silent Hill series, Metal Gear Solid series, Castlevania lord of shadows had partnered up with E3 as a participant, and fans were highly excited for them to show something new in this event, like a new Castlevania or they supposedly remake of Metal Gear Solid. Things were going well until yesterday, and something happened that no one saw coming.

Konami Won’t Attend E3

Konami posted a tweet yesterday telling the fans that they won’t be attending E3. Hearing this, no wonder the fans didn’t quite like it, especially because some days ago, they had confirmed to everyone that they will be attending the massive gaming event.

Why?

As for why they said it’s because of the timing of the E3 event as they say. It’s clear that the timing became a problem, perhaps their projects weren’t ready at this time when E3 is going to take place.

No Show At E3, but Updates will Come

They did tell the fans that they have a number of games in development and will update fans about those games in the coming months, but sadly we won’t see any of these updates in E3.

“We want to reassure our fans that we are in deep development on a number of key projects, so please stay tuned for some updated in the coming months.”

Konami later said they do respect ESA ( Entertainment Software Association), who is the one that presents E3, and express hopes for the success of the event.  With this, ESA responded, showing the respect for their decision.

“We support our partner Konami’s decision to not participate in E3 this year and are excited to see what they’ll be announcing in the future when they’re ready to do so. We can’t wait for their return to E3 2022, but in the meantime, we look forward to sharing all of the highly-anticipated reveals, programming and so much more at this year’s E3.”

Last words

While they are not attending E3, it seems like E3 still going to be fun with how many good games we can expect to be announced this year. As for Konami, we’ll surely see them give updates to the games, so that’s at least a good thing,
