Mortal Kombat is going has been released, and we can’t be enough excited.
Video game movies don’t have a good reputation but the Mortal Kombat franchise could just be the exception. Its first movie that was released back in 1995 had its flaws, like the Bald Shao Kahn, or the fact that it was a pg-13 movie, but still, it wasn’t horrible or anything, at least the first movie. The second movie WAS horrible. Though this franchise had the potential to have a great movie and that is why we’re getting the new Mortal Kombat movie.
Here are 6 things you need to know before watching the Mortal Kombat movie.
1. It’s set in the earlier days
We’re reversing the clock and going back to how it all started! Shirai Ryu dynasty has not been destroyed so Scorpion is not the blood-thirsty rival of Sub Zero yet, who killed all the Shirai Ryu clan.
2. Different but familiar Sub-Zero
Did you know the player we play as in the game is not the original Sub-Zero but his brother? The original Sub-Zero, Bi Han, elder brother of Kuai Liang, was much more brutal and cold-blooded, almost to an asshole level. As it’s set in earlier days of Mortal Kombat, so we will get to see Bi Han this time.
3. There’s no Johnny Cage
If you’re a fan you need no introduction of jonhy cage- who is a fun character, like a comic relief and a fan favorite. Sadly, seems like he didn’t make it to this movie.
4. It will be VERY Gory
Gore and Mortal Kombat cannot be separated, and hopefully, we will have a lot of amounts of gore, whether in fatalities, brutalities, or X-ray attacks. According to the director himself, we will see a lot of iconic attacks in this movie, and that’s something that puts a smile on the faces of our fans.
5. New Main Character
This will be a surprise to the fans, but the main character of this move is never been introduced before and making his first debut in this franchise! What better than being a surprise main character in Mortal Kombat movie?
6. Expect the best fighting scenes you’ve ever seen
We’ve heard it from the director itself that this movie will have the best fighting scenes we have ever seen in a fighting movie. How cool is that?!
