One Plus has recently launched its two new smartphones in the flagship segment. These are One Plus 9 and One Plus 9 Pro. While these devices may receive many competitions, they are really worth looking at. We list some of the highlights of the two models.
One Plus 9
The two devices were launched on 23rd March this year. Now, they have entered the Indian market with a starting price tag of Rs. 50000. One Plus 9 gives a decent flagship experience, with a 6.55 inch 120Hz fluid AMOLED display. The phone comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 screen protection and a 20:9 aspect ratio. They have made space for a small punch-hole selfie camera at the top left corner of the screen. The phone runs on Oxygen OS 11.3.3 based on Android 11. Under the hood is the impressive octa-core 5nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G processor with Adreno 660 GPU. It comes with storage variants of 128 GB and 256 GB, and RAM variants of 8GB and 12GB.
There is a rear triple camera setup, with a 48 MP wide omnidirectional PDAF sensor, 50 MP 14mm ultrawide sensor, and 2 MP depth sensor. The camera setup contains a Hasselblad logo, and comes with Hasselblad Color Calibration, with a dual-LED flash. The front camera is 16 MP.
The phone packs a 4500 mAh lithium polymer (Li-Po) battery and supports fast charging of 65W. There is the latest USB Type-C 3.1 port. Among sensors, there is the accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity, compass, color spectrum, and an under-display fingerprint scanner.
One Plus 9 Pro
The One Plus 9 Pro is just the extended version of the One Plus 9, having all and more impressive specifications. It is definitely worth some bucks if you wish to experience the ultimate flagship model in your hands.
Among the differences, there is a quad-camera setup, compared to One Plus 9’s triple camera. The cameras include an extra 8 MP telephoto lens. The screen size is bigger with a better resolution, with the dimensions resulting in a 6,7-inch measure. Also, there are display improvements that you will notice when you use them side by side.
The phones do not contain any micro-SD card slot, which may be a disadvantage for storage-cravers. And yes, also the headphone jack is missing, which will take some time to be accustomed too.
Both the phones look decent in the price range, and they promise a quality experience. One Plus is noted for its flagship devices, and these should keep their reputation intact. Though, the phones are sure to face competition from other flagship devices, like the Asus ROG Phone 5 and the Samsung Galaxy s21 FE. The phones are available in different colour options.
