“Sky: children of light” is a beautiful looking and sounding game that takes you to a unique experience, giving a feeling that you cannot find elsewhere.
It is an indie game, developed by thatgamecompany(yes, that’s their name) who also the created the super hit game “Journey”, and we can clearly see how it’s taken inspiration from this game.
A Unique Experience
There are some games that become a beacon to our deepest thoughts, with their stunning visuals, or the stories that leave us wondering about life. We mentioned “Journey” above, which is a lovely example for this. And as you can guess, Sky Children of light is just like that- a unique experience filled with stunning visual style, the colorful world and the surreal sound, to keep us closely hooked to the game.
The story is simple- So long ago, the sky was full of stars with each star having a spirit and a story of their own, but one day they all fell down. You are a child of light, and your job is to travel across the sky and the colorful world and light up these fallen stars.
You are little winged child of light, flying around this colorful world completing your quest of lighting up fallen stars. With its story, social aspect, visual and the sound you get a unique experience you won’t find in any other game.
Other players will be in the world as you, and ways to communicate to them are unique and in a way, more interesting. You can complete main quest without ever interacting with other players, but there’s more fun if you do.
Other than it’s amazing visuals, sounds in this game play a significant role in delivering the experience the devs want you to feel. You even see a popup when you open the game saying “Sound is more than half the experience”
