Final Fantasy xiv has a marriage system, which allows you to marry anyone- your real life significant other, a friend, some random dude- in the game for mutual benefits. They can marry through eternal bond ceremony, and like in real life, you wear wedding attire and invite your friends to the wedding. But not all marriages are meant to be, and break-ups do happen.

Getting a Divorce

Whatever might be the reason- maybe your partner stopped playing the game, or any  other reason, there are times when it’s best to move on and break the marriage. After marrying your partner via ceremony of eternal bond, there is a way to annul/end the marriage. In fact, even before the ceremony, if you wish to end things, then it’s possible as well. 

If you have scheduled the ceremony but want to end things, you’ll need to have your promise wristlet, and if the ceremony has already happened but now want to divorce, you will need to have your eternity ring with you.

Here are the steps :

1. You will need to go to the sanctum of twelve in the east shroud with your eternity ring and promise wristlet.

2. Go to the tall male sanctum Acolyte dressed in white, standing next to the ceremony outlifter and speak to him,

3.  Give your Promise wristlet or your eternity ring to the sanctum.

Doing this will annul the wedding or marriage from your side, and then your partner will need to do the same, but even if they don’t, now that you have given your ring or wristlet to the sanctum, you are free to marry another partner, or become a lone wolf.

Note: In case your partner has not annulled the wedding or marriage from their side by giving their wristlet or eternity ring to the sanctum, they will still be able to teleport to the aetheryte crystal nearest to your partner in the open world.
