Frontier the developers of the space flight simulation game called Elite Dangerous : Odyssey has been working on the expansion of this multiplayer open world game. Because of the pandemic, they couldn’t release it on time. In this expansion, it is expected that the players will be exploring the game which is representation of milky way on feet rather than moving by vehicles. As players usually starts the game with a spaceship and little amount of money into the open galaxy in the previous versions of the game.
The Alpha version of Elite Dangerous : Odyssey was planned to be released on March 29, 2021. The developers of the game, Frontier decided to let this alpha version of the game to be released first to the players and then they are thinking of collecting Feedback from the players community, so that they can make modifications according to the likes of players.
Release on Consoles
Frontier in their recent statement regarding the release of the game in different consoles stated that they are planning to unveil the Elite Dangerous : Odyssey on PC during Spring 2021. And after that they will release the new expansion of the game on Play Station 4 and Xbox one during Autumn 2021. So that players can experience this new expansion of the game in the current generation platforms. In addition to that, Frontier added their note to players about how they toil to bring games to the players.
It says,”The ongoing impact of the pandemic … including the renewed lockdowns in 2021, continues to put added pressure on our teams and ultimately our development timeline” and added,”Please do know that these difficult decisions have been made with a focus on making Odyssey as incredible as it can possibly be for all our Commanders regardless of their platform, while also respecting realistic project deadlines for our teams during this difficult global situation.”
