Octane’s butterfly knife , caustic’s hammer or the heirlooms of other 7 legends- Which one is the best and which one will be at bottom?
Heirlooms are melee weapon skins and are the rarest cosmetics you can find in the game. Their extreme rarity is what makes them special and super wanted among the players.
Only two ways to get these rare cosmetics is either through opening Apex Packs, or buying the heirloom from heirloom store. Apex packs are these lootboxes you find in the game which will give you 150 heirloom shards. But here’s the catch! Chances of getting heirloom shards in Apex Packs is less than 1 percent, so you’ll have to open tons of lootboxes. But game didn’t make it too unfair as its 100 percent surety that you will get 150 heirloom shards under the 500th loot box, so if you opened 499 boxes and didn’t get the shards, you will get them when you open 500th box anyhow.
Which One’s The Best?
Apart from the design and look and feel, every heirloom has:
- At least 1 initial draw animation when we land
- several draw animations after we land
- Number of inspect animations
- 7-21 melee animation
- Special Heirloom kill voice lines
- secret animations in some heirlooms
As it’s a subjective choice on which one’s the best and will differ from player to player, we can still rank them based on the features, number of animations, the look and feel. Though, it should be noted that the ranking will be affected by our own personal thoughts about these heirlooms as well. 😉
Let’s get on with the list!
No.9 Wraith’s Kunai
It was the first heirloom, and downright one of the basic yet with a really satisfying feel.
No. 8 Gibraltar’s Hatchet
A hatchet with its blade on fire makes it a very cool-looking heirloom. The fire effect looks amazing, and it does not only glow in dark but also illuminates the surrounding area.
No. 7 Pathfinder’s Boxing Gloves
This one was introduced in season 3, and though it doesn’t have any initial draw animations it does have a really long and cool inspect animation. And also, It has the most number of melee animations.
No.6 Lifeline’s Shock Sticks
This one is simple looking, and doesn’t have tons of animations, yet it is the smoothest of them all, and the way it feels- it’s really satisfying to use.
No. 5 Mirage’s Too Much Witt
This is perhaps the most different-looking heirloom? Because it doesn’t look like a weapon skin, but downright an object- as it’s a trophy. it might turn some people off, but the fact this is by far the most feature-packed heirloom in this list, which makes it fun to have, and it has the funniest inspect animations as well.
No. 4 Bangalore’s Cold Steel
This pilot knife is the latest heirloom that is added in the season 8, and also has a satisfying feel to it.
No. 3 Caustic’s Death Hammer
This heirloom was introduced in season 6, and what makes it, so damn cool is its skull in the back of the hammer. It doesn’t have the most complex animations, but multiple small animations add up and make it a really cool looking heirloom. Hitting enemies with this hammer seems very satisfying, because, it’s a damn hammer. Already cool.
No. 2 Octane’s Butterfly Knife
It was introduced back in season 4, and this one is one of my personal favorites. Why I didn’t put it on 1st is because it lacks that extra features and animations that other heirlooms have. That said, It has the coolest inspect animation out of all the heirloom and I also love the way it feels in hand.
No.1 Bloodhound’s Axe
Introduced in season 2, it’s also my one of the favorites aside from octane’s butter knife. Not the most flashy looking definitely the most satisfying to use. It’s basic with clean and smooth design which makes it one of the best.
What are you favorite Heirlooms and do you agree with our list? Tell us down in the comments, we would love to talk.
