Likewise, many additional features of this app has resulted to increase its users up to 500 million presently. However, the app had upgrade a few additional features for their users recently. The new features are auto-delete, widgets and infinite group member. Read till the end to know about these new updates.

Auto-delete
Telegram introduce this feature with a saying that, “all messages are not meant to last forever.” However, this auto-delete feature was available in a secret chat. But now it is accessible in a normal chat box. Further, the users of this app may delete the messages for all participants at any time. Also, no other participant will be aware of deleting messages. It is applicable from 23rd February 2021. But for this feature you have to enable auto delete timer for a particular message. The timer will have two timings i.e. either 24 hours or 7 days. Likewise, the timing will begin from the moment you send the message and not from the reading of the message. Also, messages before setting of timer will remain in the chat box. And will stay unaffected by this timer.
Therefore, first set the timer and then send messages. The following are the steps to enable the timer.
- For Android: clear history and choose duration
- For iOS users: press and hold a specific message> tap select> clear chat>enable auto delete.
However, in groups only admins can set and modify the timer.
Home screen widgets
Widgets are generally in use for instant access to a particular chat. Likewise, Telegram had an update for this feature in this app. Now, the users may add a telegram widget to your phone home screen. They introduce two different widgets. They are Chat Widget and Shortcut Widget. The former shows the preview of recent messages while the latter shows only names and profile pictures. However, there is a major difference in this feature for android and iOS users. For android users, the messages will always be updated and can be expanded. But for iOS users, there is no feature of expansion.
The following are the steps to enable widgets:
- press and hold on your home screen
- tap widgets and search for Telegram.
Infinite group members
One group of Telegram allows a maximum up to 2,00,000 members. Now, those groups who have reached the aforesaid limit or expected to be reached can convert them in to a Broadcast group. Further, broadcast groups have an unlimited number of members. However, only admins are allowed to send messages, but members may join voice chats in the group.
