As time progresses, we are getting closer to the launch of a Nintendo Switch sized gaming PC. They are the 5.5-inch GPD Win 3 & the Aya Neo. Read till the end to know more.
Nintendo Switch Size Gaming PC: GPD Win 3 and Aya Neo
- The 5.5-inch GPD Win 3 and the 7-inch Aya Neo are not exactly the same; although the Ava attempts to closely fit the Nintendo console in shape, scale, and purely with gaming controls on board.
- The GPD sticks with a slide-up screen that exposes a small backlit keyboard to its palmtop machine roots. Also, if you want to use the GPD like a full Windows 10 device, there is a fingerprint sensor, a MicroSD slot and an optional Thunderbolt 4 dock.
GPD Win 3 Specs:
- With 16 GB of LPDDR4X 4266 MHz RAM and 1 TB of M.2 SSD capacity, it is powered by a Core i7-1165G7 (or Core i5-1135G7), quite the powerhouse considering the size of the GPD WIN 3.
- There’s also the Intel Iris Xe graphics, the very discrete GPU of the chipmaker and its recent attempt to make it big in PC gaming. The normal gaming buttons and joysticks flanking the touch screen are, of course, while the touch keyboard concealed under the same sliding screen is its unique trick.
- However, there are certain drawbacks too. Likewise, in order to optimise the graphics hardware, the 5.5-inch screen maxes out at 1280 to 720 pixels. It will enable it to run games at moderate frame rates and reasonable settings but at lower resolutions. The keyboard, which lacks tactile physical key feedback.
Aya Neo Specs:
- It will come along with 16 GB of LPDRR4X RAM and up to 1 TB of ram. Aya Neo will come with an AMD Ryzen 5 4500U chipset.
- A Vega 6 GPU with 6 Compute Units that should deliver up to 1.1 TFLOPs of output is included in the Ryzen 5 4500U. The 1,280 x 800 IPS Screen, a 47 Whr battery and Bluetooth 5.0/Wi-Fi 6 networking are also on board.
Price:
Aya Neo: With 512 GB of storage, the AYA NEO Founder is available for pre-order for $603. Alternatively, for $694, there is a 1 TB edition.
GPD Win 3: As per the rumours, it will begin with a starting price of $699.
