Downloading songs on Spotify is quite simple but the steps vary, depending on your membership and the device you use.
Premium Membership
If you have paid subscription on Spotify, then you can download any song at any time. This song is then saved on the device so it can be heard without the internet but, it won’t be available in other devices even if the same account is there. The membership rates are stated on per month basis but the figures vary according to the plan. Student plan costs only $4.99 while the individual and family plan comes around $9.99 and $14.99, respectively.
Free Membership
The pleasure of listening to songs offline is featured only for premium users. So, if you want to download songs in free membership then, you will have to download, install and launch an additional app called, NoteBurner Spotify Music Converter. Create a playlist of songs in Spotify, that you want to download. Copy the playlist link and paste it in NoteBurner. Set the output quality and format of your songs in the latter. Once the conversion is completed you will have the songs downloaded in your Windows or Mac OS device.
Desktop
Downloading the song in desktop involves two simple steps-
- Create or get the playlist that you want to download.
- Switch the download button to on. The appearance of the green arrow symbol denotes successful download.
These songs can then be enjoyed in offline mode, but before that, the app needs to be set to offline mode. To do so, you just have to open the Spotify app and activate its offline mode.
Mobile and Tablet
- Get the Spotify app and have the particular album or playlist ready to download.
- Tap on the download symbol and wait until it turns into a green arrow symbol.
- The songs are downloaded and stored in your library.
- To access them in offline mode, go to settings and switch on offline under the playback.
