Friday Night Funkin is a rhythm game where you must battle against your hot girlfriend’s dad. Feel the rhythm and be accurate to impress your soon-to-be father in law.
Your girlfriend’s father is still a hassle, and no matter what you do, you’re never going to be good enough for your daughter. On Friday night, all of this comes together in a colorful mash. The fun of Friday and the fear of meeting your significant other’s dad. It’s going to make your legs shake and your heart tingle. There are four modes available for your pleasure, Bopeebo, DadBattle, Fresh, and Tutorial.

Follow the arrows on the screen and be sure your timing is perfect. Otherwise, you fail and start the round. Daddy’s going to take the game to the next stage, compete against Evil Dad, learn the rhythm, top it off as he’s an ex-Rockstar, and sing your melody to your girl’s heart. The battles begin with your opponent setting the melody, and you follow the directional buttons on the console. Icons at the bottom will show you the success you are making in this skirmish of speed. The plot is quick to follow: you play The Boyfriend (Yes, that’s his name.), a blue-haired rapper who’s hooked up with the sexy Smokin babe you’ve seen above, The Girlfriend (Yes, that’s her name). Her dad, The Father (Yes, that’s his name), isn’t all that keen on you and her… *ahem*…gettin’ funky, so he challenges you to a rapping contest for the right to keep dating her. It’s not going to be easy to beat him, mainly because he’s an ex-rock star who may or may not kill you. Even if you win, who’s going to guarantee that some other jewelry isn’t going to try to steal your girl? It looks like you’ve got a long future ahead of you…
The game can be found free of charge on both Newgrounds and Itch.io. Developers are aiming to extend the game by updating new tracks, stages, and characters.
