Although we won’t be experiencing any pirate experiences anytime shortly, the makers of Skull & Bones have released new gameplay footage that demonstrates the game’s story. The gameplay, which lasted for about 30 minutes, shows the potential rewards for the players. However, it appears that players will need to wait till Ubisoft makes a fresh official release announcement.

Projects featuring popular brands like Prince of Persia and Tom Clancy have been postponed as a result of Ubisoft’s previous layoffs. Fans of Beyond Good and Evil 2 should exhale with relief, though, as a Ubisoft representative verified that the game is still in progress.

Although the concept was first revealed to be in production more than ten years ago, supporters didn’t get anything else until Ubisoft revealed the game’s teaser at E3 2017. Since that day, though, not much more information about the game has been revealed, leading many to speculate that, after almost 15 years of building, it may be scrapped altogether. In the end, it appears like Ubisoft is still holding out hope because the game is still being developed at the company’s Montpellier office.

When news broke that the corporation was shelving multiple projects, the stock values of the French gaming titans took a serious hit. The Financial Times reports that one day after Ubisoft announced the suspensions and its revised prediction, the company’s market prices dropped by a fifth, or over 20%, when marketplaces began. The share price dropped from EUR 24.25 to EUR 19.25 as a result of the decline. The stock is currently trading for 20.35 euros.
