The Xiaomi Black Shark 5 and 5 Pro is set on fire
Xiaomi’s Black Shark phones have garnered a following over the years thanks to their amazing hardware specifications, performance, and comparatively inexpensive price. The phones have proven to be a viable alternative to more expensive gaming cellphones from competing brands, and the company appears to be on the verge of releasing its latest model (on an international scale, at least).
The global debut of the Xiaomi Black Shark 5 series is set for June 8th, 2022, according to a post on the official Black Shark Malaysia Facebook page. “Your go-to gaming partner, the Black Shark 5 and 5 Pro are almost ready to be pushed to the limit,” the post adds. The all-new Black Shark will premiere on Facebook and Tiktok at 7 p.m. on August 6th.”
The Black Shark line of phones, which comprise the 5 and 5 Pro, in particular, was released in China earlier this year. The Snapdragon 870 SoC powers the base model 5, while the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipsets power the Pro version.
The Black Shark 5 series is the follow-up to the Black Shark 4 Pro, which was released in 2021. The phone’s specifications comprised a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with a 144Hz refresh rate, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 processor, and a dual-layer liquid cooling system.
The Black Shark 5 phones are yet to be priced in other regions, but we could see a follow-up announcement from the brand shortly.
