ROG Swift is First 500Hz G-Sync Gaming Monitor
The 1080p ROG Swift 500Hz from ASUS is the “world’s first” 500Hz G-Sync gaming monitor, according to the company. It features an “E-TN” (eSports TN) panel and NVIDIA’s G-Sync eSports to maximize motion and clarity in competitive gaming. If you use a Reflex-optimized mouse and an NVIDIA GPU, it also employs NVIDIA’s Reflex Analyzer technology, which provides real-time metrics to assist you to reduce end-to-end latency.
According to ASUS, the 500Hz refresh rate draws eight times faster than traditional 60Hz panels. Thanks to the new eSports TN technology, the company promises 60 percent faster response times than traditional TN panels. It also has an increased Vibrance mode embedded into the monitor’s firmware, according to ASUS. It’s designed to allow more light to get through the LCD crystals, increasing color vibrancy and helping you to “pick out details and highlights that can give away an enemy’s position,” according to the description.
500Hz G-Sync Competitive games such as CS:GO, Valorant, Overwatch, and Rainbow Six Siege require special displays. Icarus, My Time at Sandrock, Soda Crisis, and Warstride Challenges are the four new Reflex games unveiled by NVIDIA.
NVIDIA also produced a video (below) demonstrating the advantages of higher refresh rates, including enhanced target tracking, minimum ghosting, and lower system latency. In its own press release, NVIDIA stated that it “benefits every game and gamer, not just competitive games and eSports games.”“
