Xbox teaming up with the biggest mobile games studio? Hell yeah.
We all know about Microsoft Xbox Studios, and how they are delivering one of the best games in the industry but not everyone may know about Tencent, though they’ll easily recognize the games made by them: games like Call of Duty Movile, honor of kings and Pokémon UNITE, and it’s not just any company but world’s biggest mobile gaming company.
On 13th May we got an announcement from Tencent from their website that they are going to be collaborating with Xbox! Microsoft’s Xbox Game Studios will collaborate with Tencent’s TiMi Studios, the creators of the hugely popular computer games Call of Duty: Mobile and Honor of Kings. The two firms have formed a “strategic alliance” to develop “game content”.
” Tencent Tianmei Studio Group announced the formal formation of a deep strategic partnership with Xbox Game Studios. The two sides will combine their experience and strengths to carry out in-depth cooperation.” The article read.
Call of Duty: Mobile recently surpassed 500 million downloads worldwide, and the studio is also behind the new Pokémon Unite mobile strategy title.
TiMi Studios, with a projected revenue of USD 10 billion in 2020, could very well be the world’s largest maker. According to Mashable, the company’s most famous game, China-only ‘Honor of Kings,’ had a whopping 100 million monthly active users as of November.
What will they do?
For now nothing much is known about it, except the fact they will be working for “game content” so we can speculate that it could be a new mobile game most defintiely. Though, nothing is confirmed so taje this with a grain of salt!
