Fortnite is a game that offers high quality and an amazing gaming experience. And due to this it also take up a good chunk of memory in your PC or console. Also the game puts a great amount of load on the system. To cater this problem the developers have introduced a Fortnite Performance Mode.
Fortnite Performance Mode
- Performance mode’s main focus is to reduce the load on your CPU and GPU by reducing the total usage of memory. In this players have a choice to remove high-resolution textures from the game.
- This will let the players have some more space on their SSD and HDD. This mode is great for all those players who are playing multiple games on their PCs and helps to run the other games or apps smoothly too.
- Obviously the mode has a few bugs and problems since it is in the alpha mode currently, but its not a major issue. And they will be fixed over time. The performance mode is available for console’s as well.
How to turn it On ?
Enabling this mode is quite simple. First of all log in to the Epic game’s launcher and start Fortnite. Them go the main menu and click on settings. After that go to the video mode setting. You will find that it is set on the Rendering mode. Click on it and change it to Performance mode.
Once you turn this mode on you will gain 61 FPS for a system with an Intel i5-8265U processor, eight GB RAM, and an Intel UHD Graphics 620 Graphic Card. Before enabling this the FPS would be 24. For the Other system the FPS will be 18 before enabling it and 45 after doing so.
How to delete High Resolution Textures
If you are comfortable with the game being in Performance mode then you really don’t have a good use for High resolution Textures. It is advisable to the those too. The steps for doing that mentioned bellow.
First, open the epic game Launcher and open Fortnite. Then select the three dots to the right of the click on Options. Next thing you need to do is to remove the check inside the box near the High Resolution Texture. And then click on Apply. This will give you some extra space on your PC or console.
