Who Created The Cha Cha Slide?
The cha cha slide came up in the late 1990s. This song was written by DJ Casper aka Willie Perry Jr. The song got it’s start in Chicago at Bally’s total Fitness club in 1996. DJ Casper had written initially written this song for his nephew David Wilson’s fitness club. As they required a new Aerobics routine for the customers. This song started with a set of instructions that were given by David in his class. Casper put his Vocals in the song and recorded it on some music track which became the never released “Casper slide Part one”. Later, to gain the copywrite for this song Casper again recorded it with a live band and that was known as the “Casper slide Part Two”.
DJ Casper began to sell the song’s Cd from the Trunk of his car. Later the Song gained Traction and reached almost every club, radio, and airtime in Chicago. This song was renamed in 2000 as Cha Cha Slide and released by Universal Records. This song topped the UK singles Chart in 2004. All thanks to Scott Mill at BBC Radio for debuting the song. This was when the Cha Cha Slide became a globally known song. The song now has various remixes that are available on different platforms.
